My Journey With Flamenco by Vansh C.

"I have always been fascinated by flamenco guitar but I’ve never been willing to spend a lot of time on it. Because of this, I decided to make this my first personal project.

I took a four-level online course for this project, and I massively underestimated the difficulty of this course. I anticipated myself to know a lot about the style because I had always been somewhat interested in it but saying that I had barely scratched the surface would be overestimating how much I knew.

It was pretty challenging, but I learnt a lot from it. I learnt flamenco terminology, some techniques, and some chords and passing tones that I don’t see a lot while playing other genres.

Before the course started, I prepared a flamenco piece with the minimum knowledge I had, and I'm gonna play the same piece again at showcase, after finishing the course, which is how I'll be measuring my progress. The differences between the initial recording and final recording of the same piece will be the knowledge and techniques I have gained from the course. I’m super nervous and super excited about performing it on stage. " - Vansh C.
