spark. - a Mastery Project by Julia G.

Updated: Apr 18

For her mastery project, senior student Julia G started spark. - “a social enterprise focused on spreading awareness about social justice issues such as feminism, LGBTQ+ rights, and animal rights.”

"spark. is my Mastery project that I started during my second year at TGS. It's a social enterprise focused on spreading awareness about social justice issues such as feminism, LGBTQ+ rights, and animal rights. Through this project, I've been able to work on my graphic design skills by making stickers, pins, and t-shirt designs representing each cause. So far, I've sold them at our Showcases, and the profit was donated to two organizations in Costa Rica and Australia (one focusing on sustainability and the other focusing on suicide prevention within the Indigenous LGBT youth). A big part of the project was advocacy; learning about it has been a crucial part of developing the brand and its message, as well as what techniques I should be using to best advocate for the causes I chose to focus on." - Julia G.
